I'm taking a picture a day...
so even if I don't manage clothes daily, because, for example today I wore something I have worn before I should be posting a picture a day of something else. I'm going to try and have it be something memorable.
Today I bought a $700 sewing machine. It was 50% off. That means it was $350. I'm such a math wiz. It was still more money than I have ever spent on anything in my entire life, though. There is some problem with it, but I don't talk about the unhappy things here, as I have said, so I'll just *squee* and say I can't wait until I can actually use it!
It is so beautiful. For now, all I can do is stroke it and lament that I cannot use it, but soon... maybe I can make dresses for my sock dolls! :D I would love to have a dress on the doll I made Tif before I send it to her. That would be awesome.
Here's another picture I took today that I liked:
We went to a game store and they had A PLUSH CTHULHU. I told my mom it might be a good Xmas gift for me and wink wink nudge nudged. It was really dusty, because games stores don't do well enough, wah, though this store has been there since before I was born (I know because my grandpa had a store in the same shopping center) I spent WAY too much on Cthulhu sourcebooks (because I, at least, support the local game stores!). I am thinking I will probably have to run games for Shaun since he works so much and we don't know when we can get another group together. I also got Shaun a sweet present there, but mums the word on that.

I have a Baby Lock 9500 that quit working last summer. It was 9-1/2 years old. The warranty is ALLEGED to be good for 10 years. My local repair shop had it for months before they sent it back to the factory to try and get it repaired. The factory sent it back to my repair shop as UNREPAIRABLE!!! The only thing that doesn't work is the feed dogs. It won't move the fabric forward at all!!! They tell me that it is a motor that is driven by a tiny computerized card that is no longer available. I don't know if it's the motor or the card . . . but you would think that they would still be able to store something so small in size in their factory. I used this machine for large projects (adult clothing, quilts, baby clothing & gifts) about 6 or seven times a year and at least 3 times a year it had to go into the shop!!! Something always needed adjusting or repairing!! I also have a Baby Lock serger that I bought at the same time and a Brother embroidery machine. I assure you and everyone else . . . . I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A BABY LOCK sewing machine of any kind.
I have 3 OLD (antique) Singer sewing machines that still work, although they are all over 45 years old. I have a 35 year old non-computerized Riccar sewing machine and gave my brother a 1947 Elna that still works fine. I have never had a machine in the shop as much as the Baby Lock!!! NOTE: the other night Home Shopping Network was selling a Heavy Duty Singer sewing machine for less than $300 with a 25 year warranty (including 13 accessory feet and a quilting work table). That sure looks good to me right now!!
I hope that you find someone to fix whatever is wrong with your new machine. Hopefully they will honor the warranty since it's new. Keep in mind that you won't be able to get repairs for their computerized machines after a 10 year usage date. Obviously I'm upset with the Baby Lock company and policies. I hope you had better luck than I.
